52 Week Scrapbook Challenge - Chalkboard Technique

Another brand new technique for me! Thank you for the great challenge Mary! Can't wait to see what you come up with next! :o)

Pegboard

A friend of mine wanted to see pictures of what I had done with the pegboard in my studio. I decided to post the pictures here in case someone else can find something useful in them.
I REALLY like pegboard! It was actually my husband's idea to put it up when he built my room for me. He had it up in his workshop and found it useful. I appreciated it so much that I also had him add it to my sewing room! It is a fantastic use of space! Another benefit is that although the pegboard itself is permanently affixed, nothing on it is! Everything can be moved and rearranged whenever and however you want. Reorganizing is one of my favorite things to do...so I really love that feature! A "boring" trip to the hardware store, or even Princess Auto, can turn into a jackpot haul trip for doodads for your pegboard! They have the coolest gadgets to organize and hang all your scrappy & crafty goodness! :o)

All the little red gadgets shown above came from the hardware store. Some are shelves and some have holes that are perfect for scissors & such. Even my Dremel caddy hangs perfectly on pegboard. This piece measures 45" X 46" and underneath it is a 5' countertop which will soon house my sink...YAY!!

The piece of exposed pegboard in this photo is four feet wide and 16 inches high. I got the little plastic jars in my stocking one year. They're perfect for so many things and the lids just pop into the pegboard. This is right behind another large work surface where you need things close at hand!

This turning pegboard stand is 5 1/2 feet tall. It holds a TON of product. It has 4 L-shaped sides. I used to use it for display at shows but now it's like my version of the Clip-It-Up...only it's a Peg-It-Up! Each side is reserved for one thing such as the one shown which is stamps.

Zig Zag Card

My wonderful friend Sarah is always making lots of fantastic projects! She inspired me to make this one right away! It was so much fun! Sarah's blog is called The Handmade Card Blog and you can find it right HERE
This little card is almost like a "mini" mini because you can put all kinds of goodness in it! I used many of the same supplies on this project as I did on my box project. Let me know if you have any questions! :o)

52 Week Scrapbook Challenge - Clustering Your Embellishments

We took a trip to the river recently and I took a bunch of pictures. The leaves were just starting to change! We're planning to continue photographing the progression of the change of colors. When all is said and done I will have the perfect photo for this layout. I'll let you all know when the picture and journaling have been added! :o)

Scripture Challenge - Priority

Did you know that the word "priority" isn't in the Bible? At least not in any version of the Bible that I have. So I thought it was an interesting choice for our Scripture Challenge. However, Patter has a great devotional all about cho0sing our priorities right HERE

Where is God in our list of priorities? Is He at the top of the list? The bottom? Does He even make the list? The truth of the matter is that if we put God first...if we make time for Him every day and live the life He has for us...there isn't anything we can't do! Philippians 4:13 says: "I can do ALL THINGS through Him who strengthens me!" In John 15:5b Jesus says: "apart from me you can do nothing!"

So for my page I chose the verse in Matthew. I added the Alleluia on the end because of the song, of course! I love to sing this song! Just to wrap things up today...guess what it says in Psalm 16:11? It says: "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with JOY in your presence..." Now there's some motivation, right? :o)

Joyful Blessings!

I have been gifted with a really lovely honor by Tracy over at http://www.iwannabuildamemory.blogspot.com/. Tracy has incredible talent and is a member of the Papercraft Star Design Team. To have been chosen by Tracy to receive this award is such a wonderful encouragement to me, and I'm truly grateful! It's also thrilling for me to be among the company of Geri and Silvia!
In acceptance of this award I am to answer two questions:
1. What is the best project I ever made?
2. I like to craft because...
Hmmm...those are tough questions! lol I have no idea what the best project I've made is...I think someone else would have to answer that one. I'm still pretty new at all of this paper-crafting business. I find as I'm working through the challenges and doing new projects, each one is a new technique or idea and it teaches me something. So they're all the best!
I like to craft because...I HAVE to craft! I've been crafting forever! As some of you know, I deal with some health and pain issues. I believe the Lord has gifted me with crafting skills as a means to help me deal with those issues. Creating brings me great JOY and distraction from the pain. My goal with this blog is to share the gratitude I have in my heart for what the Lord gifts me with daily, to be an encouragement to others, and to spread a little JOY!! :o)

52 Week Scrapbook Challenge - Paint the Edges

I have to say I'm really enjoying this challenge of Mary's! It's so fun to try new things and that is exactly what this challenge is doing for me week after week! I've not used acrylic paint on any of my layouts before...so here is another first! :o)
This is a picture of my youngest daughter Andrea, when she was a baby! She's holding her friend "Doggy" that her Dad bought for her on the day she was born. Andrea is now 21 and still has her dear little friend. I don't think I'll make mention of her cute little hair-do! lol Andrea and I were just discussing a young guy we saw on the street recently who had a very similar hair style! haha

52 Week Scrapbook Challenge - Doodling

Yes...I know! It's a flower...AGAIN! lol However, in my defense, it's been dark and dreary here for days! We've had four inches of rain and I needed a little bit of sunshine! I had no idea what to do for this particular challenge so I took it quite literally. I got my paper and my markers...picked a happy flower picture and started doodling. This is another first for me so I hope you like it! :o)

40 Day Challenge - Day 8 - Vintage

In this case "vintage" refers to the style of the layout and not the age of the photos. These photos are only 25 years old! :o)

Box of Scrap Goodness!

Here's a super fun project I made for for my daughter Liane for her birthday. It came from Marion Smith's U-Stream class which you can find HERE It uses only two pieces of 12 X 12 double-sided paper and any embellishments you want to add.
Then when you take the lid off...the bottom opens to a 12 X 12 layout! Isn't that fun? Liane has just started her SIXTH year of university! So I filled it with quotes & images just for her! :o)

52 Week Scrapbook Challenge - 3-3-3

Another fun challenge has begun! I've got:
three colors
three scallop circle/circle combos
three baby roses
These are the first baby roses I've made and were they ever fun!

By the way, I should tell you that my daughter Liane is going to be 23 this month! Do you think she'll mind me putting these pictures up on my blog? lol I think this is when she fell in love with "mitties" too. Yes, that's what she still calls them! This is my blog Liane, and I can talk about whatever I want to, isn't that fun? :o) My daughter Andrea is in the one picture too. Her style is totally different than Liane's. The previously blogged Converse page was for her...but she's got some "special" photos coming too. I have to do something on these challenges, right? :o)
